General Information

IMC is a liquidity provider, founded in 1989 by two traders working on the floor of the Amsterdam Equity Options Exchange. Currently, IMC has more than 950 employees, over 100 trading venues, 4 offices worldwide. IMC makes markets in multiple asset classes across over 100 trading venues worldwide, combining technology, market knowledge, and advanced risk management.

Liquidity

• Options Trading Desk (Trade in Europe)

  Options Direct Counterparty (DCP) Trading Desk was set up in 2018, leveraging its presence in screen and Inter Dealer Broker (IDB) market making, and allowing counterparties to request prices directly and trade listed options and futures with IMC off-screen. The average response time for counterparties receiving a tradable price from IMCs options DCP Desk is 90 seconds. IMC quotes all major index options in Europe (SX5E, DAX, SMI, SX7E, SXXP, VSTOXX, UKX, AEX, CAC, MIB). During the European session this company also quote global index options: E-Mini (S&P), NKY and IBOV.

• ETF Market Making (Trade in US)

  IMC is at the heart of the ETF ecosystem. We partner with Issuers and Exchanges to design and support effective lead market maker programs that incentivize trading in newly issued products in the form of tighter spreads and increased liquidity—for the benefit of investors. We may also provide initial seed capital so that investors can more readily access liquidity in new, innovative ETF products in the secondary market.

• Options Wholesaling

  IMC has been a market maker in US options for almost two decades. IMC also provide liquidity and opportunity for price improvement to end user retail counterparties.

• Execution Services

  At IMC Execution Services LLC (IMC EX), IMC allows its institutional clients to access competitive pricing and to trade listed options against our network of liquidity providers, including our U.S. market making affiliate, IMC Chicago, LLC (IMC Chicago).
